When I started reading this book I had no idea the magnitude of this story. I never imagined a love much stronger than this. Not many people would have stood the test of time. Under normal circumstances this relationship would have ended before it even began.This story is truly an inspiration to anyone who has or is dealing with illness in their marriage. Kendra's commitment and passion towards her husband is remarkable. There are not many women who would stay with a man with AIDS.
Although they were both very young, Kendra perfectly exemplified a Proverbs 31 woman. I admire her strength and undying love as she supported her husband throughout the entire process.
Jimmy's testimony is a true representation of trusting in god. His faith never wavered or became doubtful. As a matter of fact the worse his condition became, the more his faith grew. This story has the ability to touch all of your emotions from sorrow, to joy, anger for his pain, and encouragement for the future.
I thank the author for sharing this most personal time in her life. Although this book may have been trying at times to complete, many souls will be blessed. There is a message in this story for everyone!

Awesome! I Shall Not Die Living a Psalm 11817 Existence book is a must have! I am one who will start reading a book and put it down and do other things before I go back to the book. But when I began reading this book there was not one minute that I wanted to put the book down. When I finished the book I took it to my daughter and told her that if she wanted to read something good to read this book. She came back to me shortly after having read the entire book and said that this is a book that will encourage even the weakest person. This book will encourage you by letting you know, that when all odds are against you and you feel like there is no hope, to think again!

I thank Kendra for writing this autobiography even though it touched very close to home that I could relate to why the Season of Proscratination occurred in her life! Thank you ever so much for writing your powerful story and letting other Christians in on how to pick up the pace for better relationships with Jesus Christ and our fellow brothers and sisters. Kendra, thanks for telling yours and Jimmy's story from the place of healing and relationships you've endured and walked through the journey to faith and recovery!!!!! Kendra's story is worth the telling and most definitely worth the READING!!!
This book and any book by Kendra Norman Bellamy is and has always been one of my top favorite authors of Christian books. I shall not die was just magnificent. I'm trying my best to get here scheduled here in my area for An Evening with Kendra soon. A woman of God if you have ever seen one has allow God to just speak the words in what to say to people where they can related to the situations that she projects in her story. You will become strong, enduring, faithful, and forgiving. I have not found a book that she has written yet that has caused me to become bored. The tears that she has caused even me to shed made a cleansing of the soul. I do highly recommend any of Kendra's books for I guarantee that you won't be sorry and surely you will be blessed.
I would first and foremost like to thank God for timing my reading of this book. He chose the day and the hour that I needed it most. And I'd like to thank Him for the author's gift of writing and her testimony. Not all of us have yet found the courage and strength to give our testimony but I sincerely believe this book will bring so many of us one step closer.
I strongly recommend the reading of this book to anyone who has ever doubted His power; someone who may have forgotten it; and everyone who wants to relive it. Through Kendra's words and the words of her late husband, I am reminded of God's power. I know He strengthens us to bear our crosses.
I truly believe Jimmy lives on...through his daughters, Kendra, his family, and those few and faithful friends. And if we trust in God, we too, shall not die.
Kendra Norman-Bellamy and Jimmy Holmes were married just four years with a toddler and newborn baby when he received the devastating diagnosis of AIDS, the source of which was never determined. This is their true story which is both uplifting and heart-rending. He put up a valiant fight against the disease and continued to demonstrate his love for God, his wife, and family. Kendra remained steadfast and faithful in her love and devotion to her husband, honoring her marriage vows in ways most will never be called upon to do. This is a tremendous book for anyone to read, but especially young adults. Kendra is a gracious, beautiful lady whom I have had the privilege of meeting, not knowing anything more than that she had been widowed. Reading "I Shall Not Die" will give you great insight as to how she can also write beautiful, moving books of fiction with great depth. This is a marvelous and thought-provoking book which I highly recommend.
